IDI Administrator & Coach

Get to know me in three:

My home away from home:I love visiting my husband’s family in Mexico. I have fond memories of sitting on a bench in the plaza, eating a paleta, and watching families spend time with each other. I enjoy walking everywhere and the ability to simply stop at a street vendor for some yummy tacos al pastor. Life seems slower and it makes me more mindful to appreciate the little things.
The values that inspire me:Compassion, kindness, authenticity, and curiosity.
My diversity story:I first truly experienced diversity in high school when I joined a Latin dance team sponsored by the Spanish club. I met people that were outside my “comfort bubble”. I developed an appreciation for learning about what makes each person unique and how their lived experiences impact their worldview. This influenced me to sign up for a school sponsored trip to Ecuador for the summer after graduation. Traveling sparked in me a deeper passion for all things language and culture, and I decided to major in ESL. This would set me on a career path of discovering how to make the world a better place through understanding and empathy.
